AZULES HAND-CUT-MARBLE FLOOR COLLECTION
Several months ago I was honored with the privilege to partner with Fantini Mosaici & Fantini Marmi, to develop hand-cut recycled marble flooring inspired by my paintings.
The early works have me very excited. Already, the piece Azules (acrylic on canvas, 42" x 42" n), has sparked a brilliantly detailed 12 square-foot floor installation, and is now on display at FM&FM's Milan headquartes' showroom.
The attached images correspond to the those used in
recent ads that FM&FM ran in the Italian edition
of Marie Claire Maison and in
the October 2009 and April 2010 editions of Casa
Vogue (Architecture and Interior Design
Supplement of Vogue Italia).

IDENTITY HAS MOVED TO MARYLAND
Rojo Identityhas a home
in MD.
This time around, it's very personal for me. Rojo
Identity has just moved into the home of one of
the most adorable persons I know, Candace Kattar.
I love Candace. I've always cherished our friendship.
To her -and to Diego Uriburu- I owe much of the
inspiration for my work. I won't even try and explain
this, for I won't find the words; but I know that
if I trust my guts when I paint, is because I had
the fortune of having had long conversations with
both of them for more than ten years. Dog only knows
how grateful I am.
Candace Kattar and Diego Uriburu are co-founders
and Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director
of Identity, Inc. (identity-youth.org),
an amazing enterprise. I want to cordially invite

AQUA LEAVES FOR MIAMI
It’s a fact. Aqua has a home
in Miami, FL. I’ll miss it. It’s one of those
painting I’ll always remember dearly. Working
on it allowed me to better open myself up to
surprises and, especially, to accidents —dog

I am participating in a great fundraiser this
summer in support of CAMP Rehoboth,
the non-profit gay and lesbian community service
organization in the Rehoboth Beach area that does
great work for all the people living in and visiting
Sussex County, Delaware.
For your $100 Art Ticket, you are guaranteed a
small (6"x4") original work of art from
one of the 200+ artists
participating. If you went to the July 3rd event,
the Lotto part is the order in which you got to
select your art. If you weren't able to attend the
event and you bought a Blind Date ticket, a work
at ramdom was reserved for you.

NEW
EXHIBIT: ROJO FRUTILLA
For the time Lúcido,
by Argentinean playwright Rafael Spregelburd, is
playing at GALA Theatre, I'll be showing Rojo
frutilla.
The exhibition will remain open on performance nights
through October 11, when Lúcido
closes.
To celebrate this exhibit I am holding an artist
reception on Friday, September 18 at 7 pm.

I’m embarking on an extraordinary new partnership
with Fantini Mosaici & Fantini Marmi,
a prestigious Italian marble fabricator, developing
marble floors inspired by my paintings.
We selected Azules
to create a stunning 12’ square floor revealing
the painting’s intricate details through brilliant
colored, hand-cut marble.
The pictures (left) depict the construction
process and the floor will be installed in Milan
in about a month.

Designed by Division1 Architects, the new 26-unit
condominium residence The Lacey (11th St. & Florida
Ave, NW, Washington, DC) threw a big opening party.
For one of the penthouse suites’ interior, designed
by Ed Rudock (Spacelift) for BoConcept, I painted
Gris
y naranja, result of the collaboration
that Ed Rudock amicably offered me.
